New piece tonight! Mindblowing keyboard virtuoso Dónal McCann is playing a few of my new 'Queneau Études' for harpsichord alongside the final of Bach's French Suites and some other lovely works at the Chapel of Pre-Uni New College, Oxford at 9pm.

Delighted to share the premiere of 'The Echoes Return Slow'. I took recordings by Alan Lomax of Welsh miners and recordings from a few years later of the women of the community to explore transcriptions of singing and speaking, class and society. It's sometimes quite funny too!

Really excited to be writing a piece for the unstoppable @GBSRduo for this year’s @3choirs Festival. It’s called ‘O Dreamland’ and lives somewhere between Lindsay Anderson’s film, Steve Martland, and a very old recording of a sailor.

Utterly brilliant concert last night from @GBSRduo with Joseph Havlat and Sam Wilson at Bold Tendencies. Reich, Martland, and Crumb. Their programmes in themselves feel like works of art. So refreshing.

Was really fantastic to give a paper at the RMA conference at the British Library, and I’ve only just spotted the typo on the hastily written title slide! Academia can be quite isolating so it’s always wonderful to meet such supportive and passionate researchers #RMA150
