Not just a weekend. Since last Friday, I have only left my front door twice, and one of those was for my Tesco click & collect. The rest and recharging time has been glorious.

For god’s sake BA, you cannot do this to me a week before I’m flying a group of 39 to Lyon! Took me a moment to realise this wasn’t my work email, so it’s my own trip in December that’s changed 🤣

You don’t know how this feels until you’ve experienced it firsthand… the weight of responsibility, the constant double and triple checking everything, and then on the trip itself always thinking three steps ahead. Nothing prepares you for it. Shout out to all trip leaders!

Activities Week 2025: Day 1 in Lyon has included some piano playing at the airport, students ordering in the bakery and a visit to the creperie.

Activities week 2025: Day 2 in Lyon, students enjoyed a river cruise this morning. Behaviour is brilliant and they are all very enthusiastic.

When I took this photo yesterday of a TV crew filming an interview on the boat as we waited to board for a river cruise, I wasn’t expecting them to come out and put the microphone in my face and interview me live on French TV! 😱

It would be news to nobody that I love Lyon, but this week has without doubt been the most fun and rewarding of my six years as a teacher. I have had the best time with the most brilliant group of enthused, fun and, above all, totally lovely Year 9s. God I love my job ❤️
