Commodities Broker / Cattle Feeder. Trading futures/options involves risk of loss & isn't suitable for all. Nothing I post is a recommendation.

The amount of bullish cattle rhetoric on here the last month or so was a caution flag when compared to what price action/money flow was telling the mkt.

Countless posts on X continue to point to the same fundamentals of the cattle market, but there are others at play here. Lower priced feeders in Aug/Sep set to finish in the coming months have brought lower breakevens, or improved margins. This currently puts us in the 90th

Going into today, our algo went short live cattle for the first time since the beginning of April. Attached is a page from our matrix we send out every morning pre-market. Not a great look at the close, but prices are still pretty solid.

Packers dropping bids mid-day was interesting. All eyes on cash cattle. With carry being built- watching if traders are interested in rolling to a more expensive LC contract, rather than a discount, as has been the case most of the year. Commercials can see the carry too.
