Research has repeatedly shown that we cannot tell who is lying. Yet when we are told someone is abusing, we think– “I know that person; it cannot be true!”

We must never assume that someone who is gifted verbally and has theological knowledge is spiritually wise and mature.  Sometimes that leader is power hungry and self-serving, working the system and the people in it to themselves.

And he isn't even on leave. This is so overtly evil at this point.

People may not realize that Bp. Ruch is still exercising his everyday ministry, even though the charges include habitual promotion of sexual abusers & even though there's a clear mechanism to suspend him until trial: 3 of the 5 most senior bishops in the ACNA would need to agree.
