Maranoa Girl 'Advancing religion' must be removed from tax exempt categories. Charitable work of religions should be treated exactly the same way as non religious organisations where they apply for charitable tax exemption. It should be a level playing field for all. No religious privilege.

All this symbolic banning of stuff is probably sending a good message to certain people. Also, we are about to see an absolute avalanche of right-wing election victories.

My entire PhD thesis, inspired by a family violence case I prosecuted 9 years ago, started 5 years ago, and soon to be submitted, suggests training police and prosecutors in Aus so that they know about this option: if a perpetrator has caused serious psych harm, charge them!

The conduct comprised of sending unsolicited personal (and sometimes threatening) emails, forcing hugs, and even waiting for the respondent in her bed, in only his underwear, while on a work trip. The appellant grossly took advantage of the power imbalance between them. (2/4)

Do people really believe that lamps made out of pink salt can change your mood through magic and cure allergies and stuff? It just seems absurd. It’s a lamp. Made of salt. That’s it. Sprinkle some SAXA around your Kmart lamp and call it a day.

Tomorrow, Premier Dan Andrews will give his 34th press conference in a row. That’s 34 days straight. Let that sink in. No Tory leader would ever bother to provide relentless, open & direct dialogue to our community seeking support & hope. You want leadership? This is leadership.

This behaviour is abusive, sexist, and disgraceful. It’s a sign of a very small man who instantly reverts to attempts to silence and embarrass a woman. How does he get away with it?

In response to a reasonable question on masks, he mocks her looks, her weight, calls her stupid, tells her to be quiet. Women know what this feels like in our guts, don’t we? We get it our whole lives. I wonder what Gladys Berejiklian thinks about it.

At its most basic it is about respect for others! I certainly respect Mr Haynes QC response to this. ‘It has to stop’: former High Court judge calls out sexual harassment smh.com.au/national/it-ha…

I really recommend this podcast produced by the Australian Bar Association about sexual harassment at the bar. Kate Eastman SC is eloquent and insightful - "Men are overwhelming the perpetrators of sexual harassment. Elimination…lnkd.in/gurmtS4 lnkd.in/gt-NcKH

This is worth repeating: If we want to end violence against women, it’s not women who need to change their behaviour. Men do. We need to end the culture of victim-blaming and start focusing on those who are responsible for these crimes.

I get told by my family all the time I wouldn’t understand because I don’t have children. Grace Tame “It shouldn’t take having children to have a conscience”, then leaning closer to the microphone ”And actually on top of that, having children doesn’t guarantee a conscience.” ❤️
