Just published in open access in International Labor and Working-Class History, my article about the “comeback” of Kautsky in leftist debates. It was presented in a workshop organised last year by Don Kalb and Marcel van der Linden. cambridge.org/core/journals/…

For those who were wondering how it's going with the ultra-right government in Argentina. The official account of Milei's office posts a video celebrating 12 October 1492, when the arrival of Columbus set “a milestone which marked the beginning of civilisation in the Americas”.

Today I gave a public talk with Alex Callinicos @alexcallinicos.bsky.social at Plaza de Mayo, as part of a teach-in organized by the teachers' union AGD-UBA. It’s essential that we defeat Javier Milei’s attacks on Argentine universities.

Maybe not a PhD dissertation, but certainly a Research Master thesis. Not so weird if you think at an undergraduate programme in Latin America lasts 5-6 years, while in Anglo systems the Bachelor lasts 3 years and a (Research) Master takes 1 or 2.

Are we framing the AI discussion wrong in history departments? I think we're too focused on student “cheating” while missing the bigger picture. I've been thinking about this for a while and decided to write it down. lucaspoy.substack.com/p/historians-w…

New post on Substack: how I’ve been testing NotebookLM with digitised newspapers. In short: great for discovery (much better than keyword searching), but weak and risky for analysis. lucaspoy.substack.com/p/using-notebo…
