We have a new review article out in RSC Sustainability in collaboration with Pokrant @PLUS_1622 and Luber Group UZH Chemistry on the "Stability and degradation of (oxy)nitride photocatalysts for water splitting" doi.org/10.1039/D4SU00… supported by Schweizerischer Nationalfonds (SNF) via our Sinergia project #DegPEC

What a honor! I am the recipient of the 2024 Yellott Award by the Solar Energy Division of the ASME.org My deepest thanks go to my group (today and since 2013), my mentors, my supporters, my letter writers, and my EPFL colleagues (EPFL Mechanical Engineering EPFL School of Engineering)!

New paper out in ACS Catalysis by Etienne reviewing the rate limiting step in CO2-to-CO reduction on silver pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac… Work supported by #SelectCO2 and NCCR Catalysis

We show reversible operation of a photo-electrochemical device is feasible (in photo-driven electrolysis and fuel cell modes) in a new paper in Cell Reports Physical Science cell.com/cell-reports-p… Work supported by European Space Agency and led by Mahendra and #Alexandre

Excited to co-organize a symposium on degradation in (photo)electrochemical H2O splitting &CO2R with Simone Pokrant @PLUS_1622 & Sandra Luber Group University of Zurich. Deadline for abstracts is July 15. We have awards for best posters & contributed talks! Looking forward to your submissions

New publication by Roberto et al. in Sust. Enrg&Fuels RSC Energy Journals on High-throughput parallel testing of 10 PEC cells for H2O splitting pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art… Inspired by battery research, we developed a multi-cell setup for PEC research. Support by Solar2Chem &Sinergia Schweizerischer Nationalfonds (SNF)

New paper out by Evan in The Journal of Physical Chemistry comparing the modeling of the electrical double layer in electrochemical CO2 reduction by molecular dynamics and by continuum modeling pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac… Important differences do exist! Supported by NCCR Catalysis

Reminder: July 25 is abstract submission deadline of the #MATSUS24 nanoGeConferences in Lausanne & our symposium on "Materials and devices for stable and efficient solar fuels" #PhotoDeg. We have awards for best posters & contributed talks. Looking forward to your submissions!

Our paper by Roberto Valenza, Isaac & @frankybedoya on "high-throughput parallel testing of photoelectrochemical cells" in Sustainable Energy & Fuels RSC Energy Journals made the cover. We apply the method to understand and quantify temperature effects on PEC systems pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…

Our own Roberto Valenza Roberto Valenza is a winner of a "PhD thesis in three minutes" award at the #emrs fall 2024 conference in Warsaw. Congratulations Roberto!
