God never expects us to obey one part of His Word at the expense of another. If you try to justify disobedience in one area because you were obeying Him in another, all you are left with is disobedience. See Uzzah for more.

I can't truly and fully process my trauma until I have processed Jesus' taking my trauma as his own. Without the fellowship of his suffering, I am left to 'save' myself.

"Resisting the temptation to immediately denounce someone or something, without all the facts, is maybe the real act of rebellion today." Good word. Good spoiler free review. Haven't seen it yet but hoping to soon.

If you're into the counseling conversations, this from Cody is worth the read. I echo a lot of these thoughts. I wouldn't see where he is at in being in between the gunfire as always a bad thing. Picking a side isn't always the right course, though it can be when lines are

Good word here. Applies in many ways. For example, I remember being in a church that used Hillsong in worship one week and then called for people to leave THOSE churches that weren't "real churches" that sing Hillsong just a couple weeks later.

I have a hunch that a lot of the attention of the enemy has been long diverted to trying to thwart the work of RC Sproul, Keller, Packer, MacArthur, etc. As that generation continues to pass away, the enemy will be seeking to pounce more and more on the next. Get your armor on!

Words of wisdom from John MacArthur when I was working full time on my way through my counseling program: "Joe, people will always like you much more and you will be much more popular as a Chick Fil-A manager than they ever will as a pastor." Was MacArthur flawed? Sure. Did I

In church and in life, petty complainers can often drown out those with real needs. Don’t let noise drown out the ability to care for the hurting.
