This is what I’ve been saying for years - we need to consider nutritional status when people present with “medically unexplained symptoms”. Nutrient deficiencies don’t just show up as blood test results - they have symptoms.

My interpretation of this study: - we can’t spot malnutrition just by looking at someone - normal weight - or overweight - individuals from any income group can be malnourished - ‘medically unexplained symptoms’ might be explained by considering nutrition

I enjoyed being interviewed by Christine Clark recently about nutrition. Our discussion has been turned into a series of educational videos about how nutrition can influence health and the need for medication, including magnesium, vitamin D, and omega 3 fatty acids.

OhTWIST.bsky.social now too Many studies show joint hypermobility is common. Fits with my “genes load the gun, environment pulls the trigger” hypothesis: people who are ‘healthy hypermobile’ can develop hEDS/HSD after the illness is switched on by eg. infection, growth spurt, surgery, trauma, pregnancy etc.
