The end of an era. After almost 50 years the HC Psychological Service is moving out of Culcabock. Sad ending with lots of brilliant memories of friends and colleagues past and present.

The Highland Council published a report last week which gives welcome reprieve from the coverage of ‘violent’ behaviour in schools and drew some important conclusions. They carried out their own research and found that 1/6

So many interventions and structural changes do not follow these principles, leading to the REAL problem not being addressed and a degradation of trust and motivation in organisations.

Enacting the UNCRC means children have rights to consent, to be consulted, and to complain. But often adult myths about their capacity get in the way. Jo Chamberlain and I asked children & young people what they thought of these myths - here is what we learned from them!

The children & young people had a lot to say on this, privileged to have had the opportunity to listen to their views and hear what they think needs to be done. Next step is to follow through on what they’ve asked and share this and the resources we are developing far and wide.

Excited to see how this piece of work will grow and how the voices of the children and young people involved will influence change!
