Sproat & McLean excel in AAA, could support short-starting vets. Benge dominated AA, could fill CF gap. Sproat & McLean could bolster rotation, piggybacking Holmes/Montas, who rarely pitch past 5th. Ready now, Mets need help, expect call-up soon.

Things are rough now, but the Mets remain in playoff contention. This isn't an "all-in" year, with a strong farm system and Steve Cohen's finances for the future. The last two months were a disaster, but they just need to get in and peak at the right time.

The Mets have the talent to turn this around. If the bats awaken, the starters find their groove, and a few prospects get called up, they can make a run. The season isn't over; it just feels that way. Let's start small: end the losing streak tonight. LGM.

The only exciting thing about the Mets these days is Nolan McLean. Let's hope he pitches well enough for a win in the hellhole that is Atlanta.

The Mets made an interesting move today, having Brandon Sproat pitch out of the AAA bullpen. Sproat could piggyback Mets starters struggling to pitch deep. This means either Tylor Megill or Jonah Tong will be the Mets' sixth starter down the stretch. Here's hoping it's Tong.

The Mets' offense has FINALLY broken out. On Monday they scored 12 or more runs for the fourth time this month. They're averaging over six runs per game in August.

The Mets have scored an MLB-leading 93 runs in 13 games since Aug. 12. Their 133 runs scored in August are the second-most.

Another key to the Mets' offensive turnaround is contributions from players beyond the "big four." Since last Sunday, Mark Vientos has hit .387 (12-for-31) with five homers, four doubles, and 13 RBIs in eight games. Tyrone Taylor and Luis Torrens had big games last night.
