Congrats to AI at Meta on tracking and releasing the carbon footprint estimation for Llama 3! 🌎 Also a good reminder that even with current optimization approaches, this is orders of magnitude more than previous generations of models (eg 100T for BLOOM, 540T for Llama 2) 🫠
