Just like teachers, #slpeeps need to be aware of Australian Aboriginal English as a recognised dialect in Australia. Makes a difference in our appropriate assessment and treatment of #language #DevLangDis. Shouldn't just be assessing in Standard Australian English

I’m really excited to be completing my Speech Pathology Research Project into people’s views and experiences of plastic straws. #WatchThisSpace

Great video from Delta Goodrem highlighting how debilitating loss of voice and loss of communication can be (especially if your livelihood depends on it!).

I have a very long drive to get to placement so have been passing the time by listening to a Harry Potter audiobook narrated by Stephen Fry....thanks to Cath Gregory, PhD’s Voice classes, I now think about whether he had enough vocal rest while recording the audiobook! 🤦🏼‍♀️

"...So if you have to use a straw and you want to reduce your environmental impact, consider carrying a reusable, stainless steel one next time"...Another article about the #StrawBan that doesn't consider the needs of people with dysphagia or other disabilities.

Celebratory photo for finishing our final class! 🎉 Thank you to everyone who helped us through our two-year Masters at Speech Pathology at UTS, especially Professor Emma Power and David Kinnane for teaching our final subject. We’re so close now! #SLP2B

I just finished presenting my findings into people's views and use of plastic straws at the #GoSHSpeechSEER. I have never presented at an event like this before, so it was an exciting (and nerve-wracking) experience. Thanks Speech Pathology at UTS and BronwynHemsley for this opportunity!
