Thames Water is a company in chaos, on the verge of collapse. I recently submitted a data request that shows the escalating leaks and longer repair times in Islington. We deserve better - water should be run for public good, privatisation has failed. islingtontribune.co.uk/article/forum-…

Our research shows the cost of living crisis is the public's #1 cause of low growth - in second comes the high cost of energy. Energy bills are set to rise in April by £111/yr for the average household. Voters will expect the Gov to act 🧵👇

The treatment of Glioblastoma brain tumours hasn’t progressed for over 20 years. Our medical institutions are far too happy to continue with the status quo. I hope the Rare Cancers Bill will be the first step towards bringing the change that’s needed.

Too often, people who want to work are written off by the welfare system. Most people - including benefit claimants - agree the system needs fixing to help people back into work. Read caroline wheeler in The Times and The Sunday Times below.

Our research shows over 80% of people on sickness and disability benefits want to work, but nearly 40% struggle to find jobs that fit their needs. A system which leaves thousands of people’s potential unrealised isn’t compassionate – it’s broken. The Times and The Sunday Times

Welfare should support those who are able into appropriate work - not punish them for trying. The public wants employers to take more responsibility for hiring those on sickness benefits. A National Insurance holiday for employers that do so could be a good place to start.

In an article for The i Paper, our founder Geeta Nargund writes that "there are severe disparities in access to fertility treatment across the UK, as levels of NHS funding for IVF varies widely from region to region: known as the NHS IVF postcode lottery." 1/8

Delighted to see a small preview in The Observer editorial of our upcoming work on the UK-EU relationship. Trump is definitely a push factor for a closer relationship. There are political realities that must be respected, but a pragmatic approach can get a closer relationship.

We found Britons are more likely to view Donald Trump as the biggest threat to UK national interests than terrorist organisations (24% and 22%) respectively, second only to Russia (34%). Praful Nargund discusses Trump, trade deals and the UK-EU relationship on Times Radio below.

Thank you Progressive Britain for the chance to talk about Britain’s choosing between the US and the EU. Of course we need both, but closer relations with the EU offers a better and more reliable route to increased security, both economically and on defence.

Great to speak at Progressive Britain on preventative & community care today. It's smart to tackle this - our research shows voters see health as one of the biggest drivers of growth. The NHS is Labour's crowning achievement - if we want to save it, we need a bold strategy on prevention.
