Just published! 🎉 My paper "Indigenous Community Recognition and Identity: Evidence from Peru" Comparative Political Studies. It shows how & why indigenous recognition impacts self-identification for those who experience it – and for later generations that don't. journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.117…

Whether a new or old follow, hi! A quick announcement -- A new working paper will be out by the end of the weekend on "Boundary Defense". Abstract below, SocArXiv to come. 1 of 2 new projects whose release coincides with being on the poli sci market. Consider this a soft-launch!

Counting down! Just one week until I get to discuss how war made the state in Latin America with an incredible AMC panel at APSA! Venue is still TBA, but save the time and come listen if you are around.

For years (pre 2024), whenever I would present my work to an American audience I would get questions about how the dynamics apply to the US... This wasn't my example but creating intra-social group inequalities to access is a global strategy for weakening threats to the regime.
