Part of an amazing #rescue today @ #Fistral #Newquay, a man dug a hole in the sand, which collapsed on him, friends and beach goers Newquay Community Fire Station Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service Newquay Coastguard Newquay RNLI Lifeboats & Newquay Police South Western Ambulance Service all worked together to dig man to safety. Hoping for a full recovery.

Two candidates from Newquay Community Fire Station continued their Incident Command development this week with input from WM Murt and WM Collins. Scenarios created to encourage decision making under pressure which also involved multi-agency assistance from Tri-Service Safety Officer - Josh Harmon and Tri-Service Safety Officer Lewis Rosewell (TSSO)

Today we said goodbye to our greatly missed colleague and friends Paul Parker and his partner Pam Osbourne. We would like to thank everyone who attended and those who were on duty who held their own acts of remembrance. It was a fitting send off for 2 great characters #standdown

As the nation mourns, today on the Anniversary #911Memorial we also remember the 2,977 lives lost in the terrorist attacks on America. Amongst those, we pay tribute to the first responders including 343 firefighters who lost their lives .#NeverForget
