Back to the Scottish Highlands for Day 1 of a fabulous Alpine prep course, focussing on rope work for glacier travel and crevasse rescue, followed by an afternoon of scrambling and terrain belaying. Day 2 Alpine prep took us scrambling and rock climbing up the Twin Ribs at Fiacaill ridge #cairngorms to practise Alpine rope techniques including how to climb out of a glacier crevasse using a clem hoist and French prusik. University of Brighton Lecturer Lorna Linch has co-led an international team of researchers on a two-week research expedition to study how #ClimateChange causes the break-up of Arctic ice sheets. Funded by Interact Programme, the team explored the remote Qaanaaq Ice Cap in Greenland.
