Big Read: “How did we stop being the party of successful Britain?” The Conservatives' vain battle to hold on to the pro-Brexit Red Wall and how it's set to have disastrous repercussions in London and the South. With Anna Gross and Leah Quinn (she/they) ft.com/content/4c7594…

These charts from @yougov on Miranda Green's great piece about the fall of the Blue Wall capture superbly the Conservative dilemma - the "reasons to switch" vary enormously depending on where voters are fleeing to ft.com/content/6d88c4…

What might be moving so-called ‘Blue Wall’ constituencies away from the Conservatives? We have some new research out this morning. With the help of YouGov, we mapped these seats to Census data for the first time and polled them. A 🧵 on what we found:

This is a great thread. Reform should be taken seriously, but not exaggerated. Viewed from 2015, we've mostly seen the same ~15% of voters grow, collapse into the Tory vote, then re-spawn. It's not some new massive surge in right-populist voting.

🗣️ Important reminder: All MPs can now correct the official record when they make a mistake. This improvement to the parliamentary correction system comes after campaigning from Full Fact. We hope to see our politicians lead by example.

The Nans Against Nazis pic from Liverpool reminds me of the brilliant ‘woman with the handbag’ statue in Sweden. It commemorates the moment Danuta Danielsson hit a neonazi with her handbag. Danielsson’s mother had been in a concentration camp. This is what statues are for, surely

Always good to experience the incredulity in response to analysis from the other side as it's a reminder of the ridiculous research that the left sometimes pushes while declaring it to be high quality and rational.

Absolute sigh of relief that the inquiry has done its job properly. We all want to live in a society where people are held to account.

What does business really think about government plans to strengthen workers rights? A fair bit more supportive than you might think if you just listened to some lobby groups. Short 🧵 on some polling for IPPR Trades Union Congress that Persuasion UK helped out with. Opinium
