Bowled over by the beauty of this 19th-c study of a late medieval mural of St Maurice (an African martyr and the patron saint of Germany) An extraordinary acquisition currently on display Philip Mould gallery #arthistory

A process video involving a blow torch showing how I made my painting ‘A Salvator Mundi’ within layers of wax on prehistoric bog oak. Currently on show in John Moores Painting Prize at Walker Art Gallery until Feb 25th

A Salvator Mundi by Lorna May Wadsworth is currently on display as part of #JMPP2023 Walker Art Gallery 🎨 In our catalogue, Wadsworth writes that she seeks to "invert the trope of the dynamic male artist and passive female muse". Take a look at her process of making this painting below!

Absolutely adored scribbling the phenomenal actor and glorious, joyous human Tony Curran…

Thank you Philip Mould! 🎨

Today is Maundy Thursday, the day that commemorates the Washing of the Feet and Last Supper of Jesus Christ. Sheffield Cathedral contains #Sheffield-born artist Lorna May Wadsworth’s “A Last Supper: Drawing an Altarpiece”, a charcoal preparatory drawing for her bigger “A Last Supper” painting 👌

The 12-foot-long oil on aluminium reworking of Leonardo’s Last Supper was painted by Lorna May Wadsworth in 2009 with Jesus represented by black fashion model Tafari Hinds as a way of challenging perceptions and asking people to “look with fresh eyes at something you think you know”

A gorgeous tribute from my oldest friend, the brilliant calligrapher Jules Birkby 🥰 Thank you Jules!
