@istaustria experienced increased #cyberattacks lately, which could initially be repelled. After the attacks intensified today, the Institute took all #servers offline, incl e-mail & homepage. Origin and aim are investigated further together with external support.

In disbelief at how destructive a cyber attack can be to a science institution. Even if it isn’t successful, preventative measures can take away your computer, data, internet—for days to weeks. We need better hack-up back-ups. Floppy disks? Other suggestions?

This is true for all ist scientist…in case you are trying to reach us. Landlines phones also don’t work.
