Laura Lopera and Jamie Vornlocher from University of Pittsburgh are working on cores collected in 2015 at Lake Junin, Peru. They are sampling a 200,000 to 400,000 yr old section of core for biomarkers and carbonates to study precipitation, monsoon intensity and temperature.
