One of my first graders filled their pockets with Rollie pollies during recess and then let them out in class. Day 1 of summer school is done, 18 to go!

We watched Story Bots and the episode featured Weird Al. A student announced that it was God's son. This led to me trying to explain who Weird Al is to a bunch of 5/6 year olds 🤦🏻‍♀️#summerschool #snacktimeadventures

Very excited that the new elementary boundary lines will increase our student numbers at Two Mile Prairie elementary starting in 25-26! I hope this means we can keep staff numbers consistent and offer two classes for each grade level 🤞🏻

We had an amazing field trip to CCUA last week. Ss were able to watch pollination occur right in front of them. This luffa was a perfect example of the life cycle of a plant after pollination. #cpsbest #PrairieProud #PlaceBasedLearning

I saw The Wild Robot with 3rd graders and their families. The whispers began early with comparison to the book by peter brown! and then continued after it was over. Ss recommended their families read the book to get the full picture of Roz. Lovely 🎥, 📚 is always better.

Mini Ag Week! We clean up our pumpkin/corn field. Ss harvested what was left and worked to clean up the field. We went to corn fest and tried so many corn treats made by our 5th graders, and finished the day with fishing. #cpsbest #prairieproud

I began reading Odder by Katherine Applegate (kaaauthor.bsky.social) and playing Monterey Bay Aquarium otter cam in the background while reading. It's been a great way to connect the text to a visual representation when many of my students haven't seen otters in real life. Calm vibes during reading. #cpsbest

I do not like homework as a teacher because I know the battle I endure with it as a parent at home.

Rewatching WandaVision and this line still gets me. Watching after finishing Agatha All Along gives me a different perspective to Agatha's actions and her connection to Wanda.
