Imagine if an incumbent president dropped out of a race against the guy he beat last time because the polls (that had a 5 pt avg error in 2020) have him down by a point.

Biden is down 1.1 in WI, 0.1 in MI, and 1.8 in PA, according 538.

If the error is the same as '22, he would win by 1.2 in WI, 5.7 in MI, and 3.6 in PA.

Is the poll error going to be the same as '22? Probably not. But it's not a stretch to see how Biden wins w/ current polls.
