Academic #LibraryTwitter: For #IPEDS and #ACRL surveys database counts this year, do we include the complimentary vendor databases we added? I don't mean freely available ones; the comp ones we got as paying customers (JSTOR, ProQuest, etc.). IPEDS ACRL

I'm going to belabor this point. The charter commission probably received more public comment about this charter amendment than any other. More public interest than ever before. - they are claiming inadequate community engagement? are you kidding?

This thread of Minneapolis Charter Commission clips from Wednesday's meeting is the sad highlight reel everyone needs to watch. So much fear-based decision making. Contact your council member & Mayor Frey today to tell them #letusvote to #changethecharter!

Polling of Minneapolis residents shows broad, multiracial support to #ChangeTheCharter. We all deserve to be safe and healthy in our city. Together we get to create that kind of community. It's time for the Charter Commission to #LetUsVote! #FundOurLives #DefendBlackLives

Commissioner Garcia calls public testimony a "squeaky wheel competition." No. Regardless of where people stand, public testimony is one of the many ways we step into public leadership and agency to create our communities together. It's foundational to our democracy. #LetUsVote

#IPEDS helpdesk tells libraries to NOT count e-titles in discovery/catalog on last day of FY2020 from comp/temp collections provided by vendors to support students during COVID 😲ACRL IPEDS Why erase our efforts to give students' access to content virtually overnight?

Police frequently use pretext reasons for traffic stops and then justify car searches claiming they “smelled the odor of marijuana.” It’s not uncommon for the search to reveal no marijuana. Another reason to ban pretext stops and legalize marijuana.

If I learned anything from the last time I said "libraries should do X thing", it was that instead of saying your revolutionary idea, you should stop and ask yourself why it hasn't happened yet. The short answer is almost always "because capitalism".

Why have Trump and Republicans accepted the results from House and Senate elections, but not Presidential? Everything was on the same ballots.

Thanks for sharing University of Arizona Libraries tutorials through Creative Commons, Yvonne Mery! If other libraries want to use them, do we need our own software licenses to do so? Articulate Rise, Sidecar, etc.? #loex2021
