A new reason to work out in the morning: it builds confidence to overcome obstacles. On days when people exercise before work, they’re more engaged and less exhausted. They see tasks as challenges to conquer rather than threats to avoid. Early wins boost energy and efficacy.

How to give feedback without being a jerk: 1. Be a coach, not a critic. Aim to help, not attack. 2. Don't assert opinion as fact. You're sharing your subjective reaction, not the objective truth. 3. Be honest, not brutal. Be direct in what you say, but kind in how you say it.

Happiness is not about reaching your goals. It's about aligning your goals with your values. Progress without purpose is empty. Achievement without impact is fleeting. Success is most rewarding when it serves the people and principles that matter to you.

Narcissistic leaders are threatened by talent. They want to be the smartest person in the room. Humble leaders are drawn to talent. They surround themselves with people who make them smarter. Great leaders grow talent. They strive to make everyone in the room smarter.

Shame is not an evidenced based teaching method. ❌ My favorite thing to tell rotation students as a new preceptor: “I might ask you questions to explore your understanding. My goal is never to belittle you, it’s to explore gaps in knowledge so we can fill them in together.”
