Huge loss to our microbiology community here Penn State BMB ! Don Bryant was an inspirational force to many. From farm boy to a very productive career with over 425 papers and books, including 200 papers just this past decade! May he RIP.

I think we might have a bit of a nomenclature issue: MD and FD genes are in the literature as Plasmodium sexual development genes as Male or Female Development (MD1-5, FD1-4 Oliver Billker) and now as Male or Female Drivers (MD1-10, FD1-9 AnkarklevLab) and the lists don't overlap?

Nomenclature thread Part II: To make matters worse, the original MD1 Oliver Billker Arthur Talman has a new abbreviation, MM2 AnkarklevLab . What will we do without VEuPathDB to keep track?
