𝐌𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 Last week we welcomed more Mystery Readers from Castle Batch Primary School Academy! Ruth Baltzer is the school SENCO, Tom Hassall is the Deputy Head Teacher and Abby White is a Business Administrator. Thank you so much for sharing a story with us!

We have a lovely outdoor space which is used to provide teaching and learning opportunities for the children. Our Little Learners have engaged in activities that provide new experiences to provoke new thoughts, ideas and also encourage problem solving and critical thinking skills

𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤 Our Little Learners took part in a nature walk. The children used their senses to discuss what they could see, hear, smell and touch! The children worked together to collect some items they found and bought them back to Discoverers to create nature pictures.

𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜 Our Little have enjoyed making marks to music. This activity is great for mindfulness and promotes rest within play. The children listen to calming music and take inspiration from what they hear to create shapes and form lines.

𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬 Our Discoverers have explored the sounds that different musical instruments make focussing on key vocabulary such as: volume, speed, rhythm and beat. Our Adventurers have retold their focus story, Dear Zoo, using illustrations to support them.

𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 📷 Our Little Learners celebrated Earth Day yesterday. We created our very own paper plate planets while discussing how we can look after our beautiful world! MrsTedderCBPSA Amy Marsh

𝐌𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 we invited Nikki Makaton Tutor to share and sign a story as a mystery reader! Nikki read Dear Zoo and taught us a song! Our children loved learning the signs for the different animals. Can they show you the sign for their favourite animal in the story?

Our Adventurers enjoyed experimenting with the shapes and patterns they could make, whilst engaging in a printing activity with paints. Printing is a wonderful visual arts medium that is both tactile and has an emphasis on colour, shape and lines.

𝐌𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 We welcomed the lovely Kate from Bowen Opticians to share a story about Topsy and Tim visiting the Opticians! The children were really interested in the glasses they got to see and try on and enjoyed looking at the pictures on the charts!

𝐓𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐢s The Little Learners have been enjoying some tennis in the garden as one of our sports week activities. The children have practiced turn taking and teamwork. Tennis is a great way to develop hand-eye coordination and strengthen gross motor muscles/control.

Our Little Learners took an interest in the recent storm after hearing thunder and seeing lightning which provoked conversation about weather. The children created a lovely colourful rainbow with resources provided that prompted a range of questions about the world around us.

𝐘𝐨𝐠𝐚 Our Little Learners participated in some yoga today. We discussed the importance of practicing mindfulness and relaxation and the effect this has on our bodies.

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 Some of our lovely activities set up for our Little Learners to access to support their continued learning and development.

𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 Thank you to all of our amazing families who turned up to support our brilliant Little Learners during Sports Day 2025. Our children who didn't attend took part in their very own relay races. We all had so much fun and hope you did too.

We celebrated 10 years of Little Learners yesterday afternoon at Little Learners - St Anne's Church Academy. Thank you to all of our children, families and staff for making this possible.

Our Little Learners have been developing their maths skills by exploring patterns and shapes this week. They have have been identifying and matching the patterns and shapes they recognise, finding out about new ones and experimenting with creating their own designs.

Our Adventurers demonstrated brilliant teamwork, turn taking and problem solving skills while helping one another fill up their pots and pans from the water tap!

Our Discoverers have enjoyed play with sea creatures. The children worked together to transport water, collected treasure and asked questions about the different animals. This provoked conversations about the names of different animals and led to an investigation about whales!

Our Little Learners have been enjoying listening to stories as a group then using props and characters to re-tell them. Our story invitations to explore have encouraged the Little Learners to remember key vocabulary and key events. What is your Little Learners favourite story?
