I’m happy to finally present the results of my postdoctoral project. Novel optical tools developed to visualize in firing synapses the behavior of LGI1 reveal that its abundance at the synaptic cleft is activity dependent and does control synaptic function!

Folks, first paper of our lab is out!! We discovered that a couple of trans-synaptic proteins, LGI1 and ADAM23, are acutely translocated to the synaptic surface during firing! This controls their abundance at clefts, impacting locally glutamate release. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
