Couldn’t be happier for this former GrangerMiddleSchool Indian Prairie 204 student headed to Western Michigan to play D1 bb as a biology major- I’ll always remember her not for science or bb, but her kindness and compassion for others. Love to see her headed out in the world to do big things!

So proud of these Wolf's Crossing 1st graders today-who used Alexa to figure out how to write “coffee shop” in Spanish, Japanese and Nepali because they wanted their customers to be able to read their signs & not feel left out...no words #globalthinking

Saw a mom in supply aisle crying, she didn’t have $ for everything on list-remember 1st day of school is different for everyone-every supply/no supplies, new outfit/old outfit, an escape from home, excited to see old friends/fear of being new-be there for ALL students #compassion

Based on survey results, Ss got together w/ their same personality type & made a list of things to pack for a vacation...from solar panels to passport to Xbox, these lists were so different, which led to great conversation-different personalities within a group gives us balance!

Our 1st Monday read aloud! Should you change your name to fit in or because people can’t pronounce it? Great class discussion/reflection! We also used @seesaw to videotape ourselves saying our names so anyone in class can play it and practice it #respect #kindness #thegrangerway

My heart was filled with joy watching my GrangerMiddleSchool kids’ looking through a microscope for the 1st time...Monarch eggs, caterpillars, spiders...today a kid came to class with a Roly Poly he’s been holding all through ELA (shh) so he can look at it under the scope 🤣

Ever have kids so into a book they can’t put it down? I decided instead of just asking them to put it away in science, to give them 1 min to share w/ the class why the book is so good they just can’t put it down-I was that kid with the flashlight reading to finish a good book 😊

Ss always find you on those days you need it most & remind you why you teach...the smiles on these GrangerMiddleSchool #mustangproject kids’ faces was all I needed-that & catching up w/ 1 of my most favorite science students ever... NASA, I hope you are ready for this special kid!
