The single most impactful thing we did in 11 years was this pass. I have cried hearing the stories of how it changed the lives of poorer people in our community. And it was cost effective! (for Calgary, 1/20 the price of the Turkish Tylenol, half of the cost of the pension plan

The University of Alberta and the University of Calgary Graduate Students' Associations have released a joint letter to the Premier of Alberta slamming Bill 18 and the claims that federal funding is favourably given to 'liberal' disciplines. Ping Lam Ip and I are cited.

As Minister of Community and Social Services, I was pleased to work with the city of Calgary and Edmonton to provide funding for this critical program. Deeply disappointed to see the UCP cut this program.

Things have spun entirely out of control in Alberta. The healthcare crisis, attacks on higher education and municipalities, power shortages, droughts and fires.

But what I feel for the first time in a long time is also that the momentum is shifting. The people have had enough.

1/5 In the midst of an affordability crisis, the Govt of Alberta is walking away from supporting struggling Calgarians by ending the standing provincial funding contribution to Calgary's Low Income Transit Pass program, plus one-year funding for an additional seniors’ pass.

Today’s news about the provincial government’s decision to cut the low income transit passes in Calgary and Edmonton is incredibly upsetting.

This pass was a way to help our neighbours. A means for everyone to actively participate in their community. It was an essential service

100%. Bill 20 is just the latest in a list of bills concentrating power in the Premier’s office. It is undemocratic and people are right to sound the alarm.

Defunding and transit subsidy programs is cruel. We are in an affordability crisis, and folks who use this program need it badly.
To prioritize a 15 year rail study over low income Albertans using public transit is the opposite of what is needed.

It is dizzying to keep up with the cruelty of this UCP government. Defunding transit passes for low income folks in an affordability crisis is a new low.

“The news that Alberta has seen the highest flu death toll in 15 years is devastating, but once again, not entirely surprising.

What a fantastic evening hearing from folks who want their CPP protected! Lizette Tejada (She/Her), Sharif Haji & I were grateful for such engaging questions.

This UCP gov't needs to sit down with Albertans and listen to them when they say they want to stay in the CPP.

Non market have always built a variety of housing forms. They are also at the mercy of zoning and RCG will cut timelines for all providers of housing including non market who have the tightest budgets and cannot handle the construction cost. Increase the base for everyone!
