Compelling evidence. Research now shows that the first 8000 days of a child's development are important and given the destruction of early, middle childhood and youth services. A coherent, scaffolded series of interventions across all age groups is required to drive human capital

As a lead author of two impact case studies for REF 2021, that involved a lot of additional work, I saw no financial reward for collecting all the impact evidence and writing the case studies. Should impact case studies should be treated in the same way as research grant income?

Very worrying. We need to ensure that school meals provide excellent quality, nutritious meals (with correct portion sizes) to ensure they are effective in improving health and educational outcomes for our children & young people.

Perhaps more appropriate to use ther term ' underserved by national government '. Access and listening are just part of the issue. Codesign 360 with national, local organisations, communities and different publics in terms of policy, intervention, implementation and Action.

The same applies to universities. Rather than simply see food as a commercial opportunity, universities have a responsibility to provide students with nutritious, affordable food, especially as many scholars publish papers on the importance of diet, health & academic performance
