At NH carnival in 2019, I saw 5+ male police officers pin down a 15yo mixed-race girl who they suspected was doing drugs. She was using her asthma pump. 5+ men. On top of a child. She was charged with resisting arrest. The scenes we see tonight are not new for many of us.

For me "she was just walking home" misses the point. There is absolutely nothing, not a single thing that justifies gender based violence. The idea that only good behaviour warrants protection or human rights is concerning. Human rights are not conditional.
