Last night I voted for the Passenger Railway Services (Public Ownership) Bill 2nd reading - to bring our railways into public ownership when franchises come to an end. This legislation is a critical first step to ensuring rail services for commuters are reliable and affordable.

The violence and hate we are seeing across the country does not represent Britain. I stand with anyone feeling threatened or intimidated and urge anyone with concerns to contact the police.
