A few photos from my "Acids and Alkalis" workshop the other day. I love using stories to introduce science to children. We start with an interactive story of "The Sorcerer's Apprentice". What could be better for the colour changing potions in the story, but acids and alkalis!

I've helped create these amazing workshops for this year's Norwich Science Festival with Lucy Catto (Fossils & Fireworks), Claire Mutimer (producer for the Norwich Science Festival), Emma from Designpod and Peter from the Norwich Puppet theatre who has helped us create the sets.

Happy World Book Day! I've had a brilliant day at Wicklewood Primary School. I was performing, "The Story of Mary Anning" (my favourite) for Year 3, telling Year 4, about my career working with DNA and in the afternoon Years 5 & 6 took part in my "Smuggler's Daughter" workshop.

I had a wonderful week at Browick Road Primary School to celebrate British Science Week. I started with the nursery class, performing "The Light House Keeper and his sandwich". A great story combining pulleys, rockets and hot air balloons.

Darwin's version of "Battle of the Beaks"! This is a fantastic way of getting children to think like Charles Darwin. 6 islands on the Galapagos, 6 food sources and 6 beaks over 3 generations. Who will survive? Who will thrive!

This is one of my favourite workshops to share with children, "To Catch a Thief". Its based on my first book. A thief is stealing pet dogs in the neighbourhood. The children have to use DNA to work out who is the thief and which dogs have been stolen! Perfect for Science Week!

Some photos from last months Home Ed sessions in Marlpit and Watlington, "The Smuggler's Daughter". This workshop is based on my second book. I shared a little insight with the children on how I write my books and where I get my inspiration from.

I wish I could get my "Tooth Fairy" story into more schools & reach more youngsters. Especially as Norfolk is one of the worst areas of the country for young children with tooth decay. It is such a good way to teach children about good oral hygiene, in a fun and memorable way.

I had a lovely "DNA Detectives" session at Bamble Learning Community group the other day. This was funded by #theForum and #NorwichScienceFestival. It is a wonderful way to reach out to the Home Ed groups in Norwich and hopefully inspire them with a love of science.

I had a fantastic time at Cambridge Science Centre over the Easter holidays. I was performing my "Story of Mary Anning" for the families visiting the centre.

I loved performing my "Story of the Easter Bunny" at the National Centre for Writing, Dragon Hall in Norwich. It is such an incredible building to be in, you can feel the history all around you.

A wonderful Home Ed session about density! An Easter story, including the floating egg density experiment. The children had a go at making their own eggs sink, float and go half way! We learnt what was happening with the molecules in the egg and water when we added salt.

The Schools Farm and Country Fair at Trinity Park in Suffolk is an amazing event. 4,500 children come to a "mini" Suffolk show for the day. All the transport is provided for them and this year each school got a free tree from Bartrams! What's not to love!

I loved helping out with the "Harvest Heroes" activities which we are taking on tour to communities in Norfolk as part of the Norwich Science Festival. For this one we were at Marlpit Community garden, which is an amazing location.
