It isn’t that doctors are greedy, it’s that Streeting is upset they’re not fools. Just like the fools he expects the UK public to be when he stokes anger against doctors while misspending taxpayer money on roles with limited value 8/

Now we know why Wes Streeting refuses to negotiate with NHS staff. He wants the strikes to go ahead, so he can blame doctors and nurses for his failure.

It appears both Jim Mackey & Wes Streeting are threatening Resident Doctors with ‘detriment’ as a result of a legal strike They need to check the law More importantly negotiate a better pay deal with commitment to pay restoration or if they are unable, ask ACAS Wes Streeting

Due to requests from the pseudo-economists, I have analysed including the PA undergraduate course (ignoring that many drs also do intercalated degrees). Now it ONLY takes 16 years before a doctor will have earnt more than a PA

As we know, UMAPS is now planning to sue Streeting and ?Leng over the review’s impact. In conclusion, the review found that due to PAs’ limited and non-medical education/training, there had to be changes to their work to protect patients, and this made their union very angry 1/

So very well said. It’s all by design.

The fact that Wes Streeting is willing to drag out strikes over a measley £23/hr is going to be his undoing That is an absolute bargain for a Doctor and he knows it He can negotiate ~6% above inflation until FPR, and still claim this as a significant win Time's ticking though

Permission granted 🔥🔥🔥 Alongside the recommendations in the Leng review it's hard to see how the GMC will come out of this without egg on their face. It's clear that patient safety nor objectives as a regulator have been driving their decisions. It's been politics.

This has always been about safety - for patients, the public & staff. No other safety critical industry, with catastrophe possible so frequently - and mostly avoided - has regulators with such scant disregard for the experts - doctors - we depend on for that safety.

This is by government design.

1/ Hi Wes Streeting Underemployed, experienced GP here 👋🏼 Stop telling porkie-pies… there may have been a record number of appointments WITHIN GP surgeries but NOT WITH GPs! Qualified GPs are being systematically squeezed out of the 1° care workforce, as you well know.
