This is a really good piece to think about today. "There’s a subtle difference, but an important one, between enduring the suffering that is sometimes necessary on the path to God, and embracing suffering as the path to God."

I had a job to do in South Queensferry and I left home in brilliant sunshine. However, when I arrived in South Queensferry, it was shrouded in haar. Not to be deterred, I went back to North Queensferry, found a nice vantage point, and waited for this to unfold in front of me.

It's only taken 10 months but I've finally got my laptop keyboard fixed after spilling coffee on it 🙈 In celebration I've reclaimed my desk from the kitchen dumping ground 😅

"The people who benefit from your non-examination are the people whose behavior depends on your inability to see clearly." An excellent piece ⤵️

Delays 😖 My haematology team had requested a PET scan appointment for this week but I'm having to wait until the end of next week instead... The silver lining: I'll have an extra week or so of feeling "normal" for the Easter holidays so that I can do things with the kids!

I keep trying to compose 🧵 on how to get through ANOTHER tough year. I am so acutely aware of the toll of saying “hey go again”… but then I spotted a post of Facebook about a women’s support group. It helps people if they don’t have help after an operation. And it’s that…

Good news... the first J mentioned had a biospy and it's returned non-malignant. More tests await but massive relief that it's not caused by cancer. The second J is still in need of prayer, they're really struggling with some symptoms that tests and scans are failing to pick up.

Male pastors and elders depending on female women's ministry leaders (or women not in official positions) to provide all pastoral care for the women in the church is an abdication of their responsibilities as shepherds to the whole church. Discuss.

This is what happens when you have to take a break from studying and you get more time to think... I'm seriously considering changing my dissertation topic 🙈

With its low horizon, simple composition and focus on the rendering of the clouds, sea and sand, Boudin's picture (1888) of Trouville is reminiscent of the work by the 17thC Dutch realist landscape artist Salomon van Ruysdael, an artist he greatly admired throughout his life.

While shopping for a new handbag, I made the mistake of looking in the Mulberry shop in Kildare Village... now nothing will compare to the one I really want but is way beyond my budget 😭

Weekly reminder: "When the Church tries to embody the rule of God in the forms of earthly power, it may achieve that power, but it is no longer a sign of the kingdom." ~ Lesslie Newbigin
