Relying on arbitrary food labels to determine exactly how much to eat is like using Google maps to tell you exactly how many minutes it will take you to get from point A to point B. It’s a good start but rarely ever accurate….

Instead of: “I had a bagel this morning so I can’t eat any carbs for the rest of the day.” Try: “The bagel I ate was delicious and provided fuel and a full tummy. I’ll prioritize (but not limit myself to) other food groups for the rest of the day.”

You can find the lowest calorie and lowest carb alternative, but just remember your body will still need to find those cut calories and carbs elsewhere.

Not every reaction to food is a food sensitivity: Stress Hormones Infection Poor quality foods Erratic eating times Medications Over and under exercise Age-related changes Medical conditions Can all contribute to food reactions.

Just remember, behind every “almond mom” is a regular person riddled with their own struggles, fears, challenges and worries. An “almond mom” is no different than any other person affected by diet culture in a terribly toxic environment.

You’re not over-eating energy balls and cottage cheese ice cream because they taste good or are too enjoyable. You’re eating past comfortable fullness because you created food scarcity and are depriving yourself of foods you fully enjoy or find tasty.

If you’re always finishing all the food on your plate and fighting the urge to eat more, then you’ll always feel a strong urge to eat more food no matter how much food is on your plate.

Taking Ozempic might be the worst thing you ever did or the best - probably somewhere in between. There are always pros & cons to every medical, health or weight loss solution. It’s RARELY all upside. That said, you at least owe yourself a convo before pulling the trigger.

If you think you have a weight problem, even if you’re not clinically under or overweight, then you still have a weight problem. If you change the way you eat, exercise, dress, or function because of the “problem with your weight,” then there is 100% a weight problem to treat.

The goal is not to have perfect body image 24/7. The hope is that poor body image days don’t wreck and ruin your day and ability to function.

If you’re not clinically under or overweight, but believe you have a weight problem, then you absolutely have a weight problem. If this perceived “weight problem” affects the way you eat, exercise, dress, or function, then there is a weight problem to treat.

If you’re feeling out of control with snacking or empty-calorie foods, it’s likely due to too much restriction or deprivation. credit/permission: Lisa Moskovitz, RD, CEO

Someone can have the “healthiest” diet, yet still not be considered at a “healthy” weight. It’s also possible to appear physically “fit and healthy” on the outside, but have the most unhealthy habits and not be so healthy on the inside.
