As the new NHS Chief Executive, I’d like to thank staff for everything you have done throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. I’ve always been incredibly proud to work for the NHS since I joined as a graduate trainee and I have never been prouder of what we’ve achieved. 1/10

To any family going through a neonatal journey: Be hopeful. Be positive. Believe. These babies are stronger than you think & capable of more you can imagine. 🙏🏼💫 Bliss Baby Charity I ❤️ the Olympics - we learn all about athletes & their stories while cheering from our sofa. [5/5]

When I talk to babies through my mask, they smile, giggle, and babble back. They can read social cues without the mouth. They are smarter than we sometimes give them credit for. - pediatrician who interacts with LOTS of babies

Did you do a wrapped bath in the neonatal unit or during the newborn period? Wrapping your baby in a muslin cloth, lowering them gently into the bath water, provides a gentle sensory experience that does not overwhelm the baby.

In #NICUAwarenessMonth we need to be talking about #FICare. No parents should be asking permission for contact with their baby. No parent should feel they can't make the decisions. No parent should feel helpless or powerless in their baby's care. Parents know baby best. Always.

This (LANGUAGE) is so important in the way we speak about people. The word ‘difficult’ is catching, once it’s said or written in notes, parents are often labelled for their stay. Parents are the same as medical professionals, people who have had babies, who are unwell or small.
