For Read Across America, Mrs. Saline and I visited our youngest Cheetahs for a read aloud paired with a STEM activity! Our preschoolers listened to interactive story This is Owl and then counted out “sticks” to build a nest to keep their eggs safe! Central ES Haddonfield Schools

So much fun at @CentraES1 Math & Literacy Family Game Night last week! My favorite night of the year getting to spend extra time with our students and their families playing games that encourage the use of math and literacy skills in a fun way!

Our nation’s children are our most precious resource. When our kids thrive, America thrives. Dismantling the Department of Education will overwhelm local school systems, further burn out our teachers, and hurt children from all backgrounds.

Practicing some high-leverage testing and comprehension strategies with 3rd-5th graders this month. First up: Sketchnoting! Some student feedback- relaxing, fun, helps me focus, helps me remember stuff! 💡👏 Central ES

Analyzing exemplars for strengths and weaknesses, and discussing how they could improve them using rubrics and what they know about strong essay writing from their tier 1 instruction. Central ES

Unscrambling sentences with sight words and CVC words then recording and adding capitalization and punctuation. So proud of these rockstar Kindergarteners! 🤩 Central ES

I don't always get to see my students on test day, so they took home their own reminder of all the strategies we've practiced to stay calm & focused, preview the text, remember what they've read, & how to get unstuck on tricky questions. Plus a lil love note to cheer them on! 📣
