Zohran Mamdani has cemented DSA power in New York City, securing a majority and winning more votes for mayor than anyone since John Lindsay in 1965. Like Lindsay, he faced split opposition in a contest with shifting party bases and interests, perhaps a sign of times to come.

As a prudential matter, VA Dems should immediately seek Jay Jones’s resignation. As an analytical matter, and something I hear in Dem focus groups a lot: R’s tolerance for Trump’s disqualifying behavior has created a real “eff going high, let’s go as low as them” mentality.

Actually, there's a strong case Trump was a) on the ballot and b) the biggest factor in the D wins. Clear majorities in NJ/VA disapproved of his job performance & over 90% of them in each state voted D for Gov. Despite his scandal, Jay Jones won 89% of Trump disapprovers.

Incredibly bleak that a 43 year old Congressman interested in legislating is choosing to retire from Congress. Meanwhile we've got members of Congress with potatoes for brains who are unable to even be asked questions.
