“Democracy” - the Columbus Way!

Oops! Residents are reporting receiving vote results from tonight’s city council meeting that doesn’t begin until 5pm. When trying to maintain the *appearance* of a democracy, it’s usually best to wait until after the public comment period to publish the pre-ordained results.

In case anyone thinks it’s just the GOP who has a lock on completely unaccountable politicians, I give you the entirely Dem-run city of Columbus who just gave the FOP a 17% raise and announced the vote before the public comment period ended 😐😑😐😑😐😑 Columbus deserves better.

6 out of our 7 councilmembers were appointed rather than elected. And not even 1 of them had the courage to stand up against police brutality and what Scott Woods rightly calls “state sanctioned killing of Black people.”
