I think my social anxiety is getting better…Cousin’s bridal shower today, didn’t know any of the 30+ wealthy southern belles except my aunt & 2 cousins, but I didn’t panic! I’m not in their class or society, but I’m a happily single teacher in a $30 Amazon dress & I survived!

I have an international student who asks endless questions. I teach on zoom & I’ll get questions privately in the chat for everything. I love it so much. She’s literally never learned this stuff so she asks questions, while my other students think they “should” know it so don’t.

Grading a student paper, as always. English isn't their first language & they have some lovely (& incorrect) phrases. My favorite is "they only know a grain of salt about [topic]." I suggested using "sand" instead, since I really love the feel of it but "grain of salt" is taken.
