BUILDING PROGRESS We had a chance to visit the former Exhibition Area & Store yesterday. The work on the roof is complete & focus is now on the interior. We have some exciting plans for this end of the Museum which we look forward to getting on with in 2025! Aberdeenshire Council

It is #NationalNoBeardDay ! Popular culture suggests that beards were a compulsory look for light-keepers but we find that most 20thC keepers didn't have them. The 19thC was a different matter, as demonstrated by David M. Scott at Kinnaird Head c.1880. Impressive beard!

We have put together a display of classically inspired lighthouse objects including our fabulous ‘Skerryvore lamp’! All typical of Alan Stevenson’s interest in the classical world.
