The local well failed in Boku Pati, #Nigeria, but families needed water for households, farmers for crops, & herdsmen for livestock. What was available was a very contaminated river. Lifewater rehabilitated the well & the #safewater today brings improved community health & peace!

Residents of Alipi Village, #Nigeria, told us of a 35-year struggle to survive without a well! A murky river was the only option, even when the water was known to cause disease & death. With support of our donors, Lifewater drilled a well. Now there is safe, accessible #water! 💧

On this #Thanksgiving weekend, we’d like to share a thank-you letter with you: “Thanks for coming to repair our well pump. We've been suffering going to the river to get water. Sometimes cows pollute it, causing sickness. Today, we are so grateful that Lifewater came to our aid.”

October 15th is #GlobalHandwashingDay! It was created to increase awareness of the importance of handwashing with soap & water as an effective way to prevent disease & save lives. Many homes around the world don’t have easy access to water, but your support helps meet this need💧

Today is #InternationalDayfortheEradicationofPoverty. For 24hrs the UN asks us all to discuss/consider ways to help eliminate poverty. WASH programs create conditions that break cycles of poverty. Our work w/ STADA Kenya (Thrive Sister) in making dignity kits of reusable pads is a great example!
