Happy Gurpurab! Best wishes to the Corangamite Sikh community as you celebrate the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, founder of Sikhism. I hope you and your families had a joyous and blessed occasion!

I was pleased to table the Joint Standing Committee on the National Disability Insurance Scheme's Annual report No. 2 of the 47th Parliament. I'd like to thank everyone who lodged a submission, appeared at public hearings or shared their views to us over the past year.

Labor wants to help more Australians buy their own home. That’s exactly what our Help to Buy scheme will do. Help to Buy will make it easier people on low and middle incomes to buy a home of their own with a smaller mortgage and smaller deposit.

Our bill to wipe $3 billion of HECS debt for more than 3 million Australians passed the Parliament. And if we win the next election Labor will wipe a further 20% off every student debt.

Today the Parliament voted to make it easier for thousands of Australians to buy their first home. Australians are doing it tough – especially in housing – but today Labor gave thousands of Australians another path to home ownership.

It’s a hoax! Dutton’s nuclear fantasy is a dud! It’s too risky, too costly, bad for emissions reduction and guess who’s going to pay for it - you!

Senator Murray Watt (@murraywatt) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Peter Dutton has already promised to cut pay and conditions by winding back casuals’ rights, the right to disconnect and same job, same pay laws. Are protections against unfair dismissal the next thing on Peter Dutton’s chopping block?

Nuclear energy is too expensive, too risky and it won’t be up and running for decades! We need to stick with clean, cheaper renewable energy!

So true! Labor’s tax cuts will endure and help people in the years ahead. Liberals have no plan for cost of living pressures just a one year levy cut, then what? A $600Billion nuclear thought bubble that wont happen until the 2040s. And who’s going to foot the bill? Taxpayers.
