Super excited to see my first first-author paper on AJHG, in which we created FactorGo as a scalable tool to learn shared genetic components across traits using thousands of GWAS summary stats. Words can't describe my gratitude towards co-mentorship by Nicholas Mancuso and Steven Gazal

Feeling FOMO big time seeing all the #ASHG2023 posts, sadly I’m not there this year! 🥲 My PhD student Jolien Rietkerk is there though and she has a poster (PB4102), go say hi to her and she can tell you about how PRS can be used to find pathways (using method by Andy Dahl)✨

Dear statgen friends at #ASHG2023 #ASHG23, my lab is #hiring #phds #postdocs to work on heterogeneity and trajectories of psychiatric disorders using EHR/cohorts across US/Europe/Asia (incl. data from PGC Consortium), lots of cool stuff to be done! Please RT and reach out via DM!

Excited to share our latest work at #ASHG23 poster PB4102 today! Come talk to me about psychiatric disorder heterogeneity and Coordinated Epistasis!

New paper by Andy Dahl and I on phenotype integration improving GWAS power while preserving specificity is now out in Nature Genetics 🎉 thank you all collaborators and reviewers! nature.com/articles/s4158…

My student Lianyun_Huang’s first first-author paper came online pre-proof in Biological Psychiatry! 🎉 (Open access to come) She compared the genetics of current MDD symptoms assessed through PHQ9 and lifetime symptoms assessed through CIDI-SF, and found meaningful differences.

This paper complements the findings of a recently published paper on in- vs out-of-episode MDD symptoms by Ken Kendler et al, which shows that depressive criteria occurring outside depressive episodes are less heritable than those occurring within. tinyurl.com/56nfvsu3

Open access pdf of Lianyun_Huang’s paper on the genetic differences between different assessments (instruments, timescale) of MDD symptoms is now online with Biological Psychiatry: tinyurl.com/3r8ktw5u

What a great city and fantastic community #BGA2024. If you want to know more about the difference between MDD symptoms assessed by CIDI-SF and PHQ9, and their usage in studying the genetics of MDD, come talk to me in the poster session at P2.05.
