Been combing through this years Reigate & Banstead Borough Council planning committee to look at some of the decisions here are some highlights a 🧵

Planning permission granted to 105 additional dwellings. Of those 105, 53 are retirement home 1 bedroom units and 12 are affordable homes

A terrible record of blocking new affordable homes from both the Greens and Tories in Reigate & Banstead 🏡❌

We are builders, not blockers. Only the Labour Party are serious about solving the housing crisis in our borough🌹

It’s 2️⃣ months since we wrote to Cllr Richard Biggs, Conservative Leader of Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, asking why he felt it acceptable to take a 34% pay rise.

We also asked Rebecca Paul Jed Dwight 💙🌳 Councillor Luke Bennett 🇬🇧 Nadean Moses + other local Tory politicians.

No one replied, but we’ll keep asking!

Labour South West 70 new homes due to be developed in Earlswood, 21 of which were affordable, a decent percentage, blocked because they were 'too rectangular'. It was a brownfield site. #BlockedByGreens

Another example of when you vote Green you get Blue in Reigate and Banstead - Tory cllr with support from Greens refuses affordable homes... the very next item the planning committee agreed to increase car parking spaces at another development in the Borough

Should be a serious consideration for anyone advocating a protest vote for the Greens that they are far more conservative than Labour on housebuilding.

This is a class issue and the Greens firmly side with the asset owners and landlords.

A party for NIMBYs, not socialists.
