Important work is being done by The Mill. The powerful must be held accountable, and only properly funded journalism can do that work. Lord hoped legal threats would silence the Mill. For such a small publication, it took serious balls to stick to its guns.

PR-wise, Friday really is " Take Out The Trash" day. Rotten news. So we gonna roll over on this Steve Rotheram ? theguardian.com/business/2025/…

A shame that a format as old as the BBC itself - the "talk" - is being abandoned in this way, though it survives on Radio Three (for now...)

“If nothing changes, thousands more businesses will collapse and Labour will be responsible”. Ok who was responsible when Lord's business managed to collapse (owing £100k to HMRC in unpaid VAT and bounceback loans) soon after receiving £400k of public money?

The "4,5,6 hours a fortnight" argument is disingenuous. If - and it's a big if - the stadium IS going to prompt the wider regeneration of that area( as our civic leaders keep telling us it will) then new infrastructure is an absolute must. If we don't build it, people won't come.

In 1974, with Keith Botsford, Glanville produced what I would say is the greatest piece of football journalism ever - the exposure of a decade of corruption involving referees by Italian clubs in Europe, incredible

On a shocking day, huge credit to Paul Salt Giulia Bould and Paul Beesley for their outstanding coverage. Calm, sensitive, fact-based public service broadcasting in the finest tradition of BBC Merseyside. Thank you.

Lovely, yes, but wildly over-spec for such a small town and a direct product of Victor Orban's use of football as a propaganda tool. europeanpressprize.com/article/viktor…
