Great antidote to recent discussions pinning young people's mental health concerns solely on smartphones. Bans are unlikely to be practically feasible or the panacea that many people hope. Need to see it as part of a much bigger and more complex picture. theguardian.com/books/article/…

My thoughts are with Goldsmiths colleagues this weekend who are waiting to find out who will receive redundancy notices on Monday. Please share - on why this matters to anyone who believes in the transformative power of education.

It’s heartbreaking news for everyone who has taught in Goldsmiths sociology and everyone who has learnt in one of the most creative and inspiring departments with such a strong global research reputation. A self-inflicted and thoughtless action with devastating consequences

Great to have a Labour MP in my constituency of Hastings who has a background in international development and advocating for vulnerable children!

Just listened to an enlightening presentation on youth as ‘risky’ data subjects in historical perspective by Liam Berriman at #UUStopTheClock. Fascinating exploration of the evolving landscape of youth in the age of datafication! Centre for Youth Research & Dialogue

I'm not a great X user anymore (find me on L-In), but I wanted to say what a fantastic conference Centre for Youth Research & Dialogue and J of Youth Studies put on this week for the Journal of Youth Studies Conference. I left inspired and invigorated by all presentations and conversations! #UUStopTheClock
