Today, LHDF and LHIF, two collectives of more than 100 NGOs and INGOs active in the humanitarian field in Lebanon, called for the "Lebanese Government and the international community to rethink how to address humanitarian needs in a country that is collapsing".

This call is joined to a new UN assessment on the dire situation in the country "where over two million Lebanese people representing 57% of the entire Lebanese population are now in a situation of humanitarian vulnerability."

"Rising food insecurity, the collapse in public services and a lack of social safety nets are all combining to create an irreversible decline in living conditions that will take generations to recover from if we don’t act now", warns the NGOs and INGOs present in Lebanon.
